Alignment matters. It’s not that we should apply a “cookie cutter” approach to yoga poses, however we need a framework to gauge our awareness against. Awareness is the ability to place yourself precisely in a given shape. The shape can change to suit your individual needs, but you should always strive to fill that shape with complete awareness.
