Had a guy ask today about an issue with a 4L60E not having 4th gear. They had already done their diag to eliminate a solenoid problem. Since it has proper 1-2 shift, we know the solenoid works and the command signal is getting to and from it. That eliminates a wiring issue, power, fuse, harness, etc. Trans has all other gears. It could have a stuck shift valve but in our experience the servo travel is the more likely culprit, as well as the easiest to check/repair.. So here's a quick servo lesso
