What is “logging?” Everybody uses this word, and I think very few people have any idea what it means. When people tell me that someone “did some logging” or “logged” their land, I tell them that I have no idea what that means — what we call “logging” encompasses and incredibly broad and nuanced range of practices, from work that is incredibly positive and life-giving to work that is exploitative and harmful (and to most laypeople, these two things in practice can look incredibly similar).
