An American operation in Venezuela led to a shutdown of airspace in the Caribbean, stranding travelers. Delta says flights should be back on track
A number of celebrities have been stranded on holiday in the Caribbean after its airspace was shut down following Donald Trump’s invasion of Venezuela and capture of the country’s president Nicolas Maduro, it is reported.
The F.A.A. grounded U.S. flights in the region because of the Trump administration’s military action in Venezuela, stranding travelers and disrupting vacations. Operations restarted on Sunday morning.
Following the closure of airspace due to U.S. action in Venezuela, airlines have now expanded services to assist travelers.
Most travelers who visit Turks and Caicos base themselves on the island of Providenciales, home to the main international airport and the archipelago’s most famous beach, Grace Bay. Pine Cay, by contrast, occupies an entire privately owned island of its own.
