The National Weather Service in Buffalo upgraded multiple winter weather advisories to winter storm warnings, as a significant snowstorm moves into the region.
Avoid or delay travel: If a snow squall warning is issued for your vicinity, it’s advisable to postpone or refrain from motor travel until the squall has passed through your area. Highways and roads are particularly hazardous during snow squalls.
An orange snowfall warning is in place for much of the Greater Toronto Area, including York, Durham and Peel regions. CBC's Dwight Drummond spoke to Environment Canada's senior climatologist to find out why the warning wasn't issued sooner.
