A day after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) requested the ICC (International Cricket Council) to shift the nation's T20 World Cup matches from India, its interim government has now issued a directive to stop IPL telecasts in the country in the wake of Mustafizur Rehman’s removal from the Kolkata Knight Riders team.
Citing this, the RCA urged the BCCI to allocate the Royals’ IPL 2026 home matches to the SMS Stadium, while assuring complete cooperation to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament.
Rahman, who became the most expensive Bangladeshi player ever after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured his services for Rs 9.20 crore at last month’s mini-auction, has been released from their Indian Premier League (IPL) squad following instructions from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
