In a federal lawsuit, a group of gun owners and advocacy groups argued that state bans against firearms in public places such as schools or hospitals violate the Second Amendment.

Activists gathered at Capitol Square's Bell Tower Monday to lobby for gun rights, while others lobbied to prevent gun violence.

It was Lobby Day at the State Capitol on Monday, Jan. 19. As the General Assembly begins each year, advocacy groups talk to lawmakers in favor of policy they'd like to see passed, including gun policy.
